Dr. Hunter S. Thompson is dead. His ashes have fallen. Johnny Depp’s check has cleared, and new editions are being published.
High up Amazon’s list is “The Kitchen Readings”, which I just finished. It was written tag team by Hunter’s old friends. One artist and new columnist Michael Cleverly. And two, larger than life, gap-toothed golden boy, Bob Braudis (above right.) The Sheriff of Aspen Colorado. Yes that Aspen.
It’s not written by Hunter but he does seep in and all in all it’s a nice authentic little book. It seems to support major concepts about the wild man and fill us in on others, like if Hunter got into partying to hard in the Woody Creek kitchen, he would just turn around and piss in the dish-filled sink. You couldn’t make that up if you wanted to.
